With so much commercial shooting available, combined with a weak economy, why should you want to spend your hard earned cash at Crogen? Well, as one very experienced shot once remarked, Crogen is as ‘damn near perfectly laid out as a pheasant shoot as you will find anywhere’.

Our heritage
Game shooting at Crogen is concentrated over nearly 3000 acres of stunning Welsh countryside within 210 miles of Marble Arch. Shooting has been at the very heart of Crogen Estate for over 130 years, making it one of North Wales’ best shoots. Originally, the main house was modernised by previous owners as a hunting lodge in 1831, together with the plantation of numerous hard woods, specifically for shooting.

In 2012, the Crogen shoot is returning to the Robertson family after 43 years being let on a commercial lease.  During that time, thousands of individuals have experienced Crogen, most returning year on year.

We will now be offering the finest aspects of both private and commercial shooting; for the first time, parties will be able to enjoy the warm hospitality of Crogen Hall itself, a quintessential country estate.

What is special about our shooting?
We have one of the best game keepers in the region, who has 13 years experience at Crogen. The shoot is based predominantly, on hard wood plantations, with easy access, good cover, and suitable challenging terrain. The setting is, as you can see from our photographs, stunning.

The shoot has some 24 drives and caters for both experienced and novice shots alike. We believe that this is important, as birds that underwhelm (or indeed overwhelm) can be embarrassing and frustrating for you and your guests. A constant flow is preferable to large groups of pheasant over guns, and our team is dedicated to the presentation of birds.




Why should I stay at Crogen?
With some 22 bedrooms split between 3 properties, we are certain we can create the perfect atmosphere for your party and family, all within a mile of your first drive.  Dinners and breakfasts can be provided to whatever standard you desire, be it relaxed or more formal. We are also delighted to advise you that we do not charge any corkage on the alcohol, soft drinks and mixers that you bring for your house party.

Throughout your visit to Crogen, you will looked after by the family who have extensive experience of shooting, corporate and private hospitality.
